Teatro Politeama

Politeama Theatre

The Politeama Garibaldi is located on Piazza Ruggero Settimo (in turn usually called Piazza Politeama) in the center of Palermo. The name comes from the Greek "πολύς" (many) and "θεάομαι" (to observe, to look).
The cylindrical structure with which it is presented reminds us of the famous Roman Pantheon. Similarly, the theater has an oval hole in the center of the roof, but it is covered.

Massimo Theater

The Teatro Massimo Vittorio Emanuele, better known as Teatro Massimo, in Palermo is the largest lyrical theater building in Italy, and one of the largest in Europe, third in order of architectural greatness after the Opéra National in Paris and the Staatsoper in Vienna. Representative environments, halls, galleries and monumental staircases surround the actual theater, forming an architectural complex of grandiose proportions.

Cattedrale di Palermo

The Cathedral

The primatial metropolitan cathedral of the Holy Virgin Mary Assumption, known simply as the Cathedral of Palermo, is the main Catholic place of worship in the city of Palermo and the episcopal seat of the homonymous metropolitan archdiocese.

The Markets, Ballarò

The permanent market extends from Piazza Casa Professa to the ramparts of Corso Tukory towards Porta Sant'Agata. The market is famous for the sale of first fruits that come from the countryside of Palermo. Ballarò is the oldest among the city's markets, frequented daily by hundreds of people, animated by the so-called abbanniate, that is, by the snoarous calls from the vendors who try to attract the interest of passers-by.
